I believe one of the most important things to remember as a coach is how important it is to always see yourself as a student. Not only does this help you retain some humility, but no one person knows everything. Technically, we are all students. I am always drawn to articles that are titled ”10 Reasons to . . .”, ”The Top 3 . . . ”, or ”5 Ways to . . . ” In the post titled, ”I’m On It!”, I mentioned how vital it is as a coach to also be a student, and give a list of ways to stay current on pedagogy. Coaches cannot expect others to want to come alongside them to be coached if they aren’t able to successfully model the behavior they want their students to demonstrate.
