As part of a coaching project for one of my courses, I met with another teacher who agreed to be coached on effectively executing a technology-enhanced lesson. This project ”fell into my lap” because the teacher approached me first and asked for help. Perfect timing! As a coach, it was important that I first make sure both of us shared the same goals. While my part was coaching and his part was teaching, our first agreed-upon goal was that we were both wanting to see successful students. Of course, there were other goals, more specific to what the students were expected to learn by the end of the lesson, but their success was definitely shared. This lesson was somewhat simple.
